Fred Hartsook

Fred grew up in Federal Way, WA, and relocated to Bellingham for college in 2003. There he studied Philosophy and Economics, and was about as involved of an INN student as you can be. Between finding community and discipleship in small groups, to seeing God’s Kingdom at work around the country in Spring Break mission trips, and leading small groups and service projects as a student leader, The INN played a vital role in forming Fred as an adult follower of Jesus.

In the following decade, God led Fred all over the place—literally! He managed a Starbucks in Bellingham for four years before traveling around the western U.S. leading the Ugandan Kids Choir for a year. After some short stints working in marketing and web design, he joined staff at Christ the King Church in Bellingham, where he served as a Student Ministries Pastor for five years. Between CTK and The INN, Fred traveled around the U.S. (and the world!) training ministry workers and laypeople in Logos Bible Software. As much fun as that was, when The INN was ready for a new Director in June 2018, Fred and his wife Celeste prayerfully discerned that God was indeed inviting them to join him in this journey.

Fred is passionate about facilitating space for young adults to find their place in the Kingdom. That may include some teaching, some service, and it will surely involve coffee and burgers. Fred is excited about all of those things. Fred is energized when he sees God open up new understanding and expand hearts—and he is confident God intends to continue doing both here at The INN.

In addition to leading students, Fred enjoys watching baseball, smoking meats, and meeting friends for sushi. His wife, best friend, and favorite person—Celeste—is a dance instructor with Opus Performing Arts, and a Bellingham Repertory Dance company member. Their lives are full, but there is still room for puppies and babies… some of both coming soon, hopefully.

Fred joined The INN staff in 2018.

Jessie Bloss

Jessie is passionate about energizing others to do extraordinary things through conversation, collaboration and community building. She graduated from Fairhaven college at WWU with a degree in Creative Communications and Entrepreneurship in 2017 and spent the following year serving as an intern at the INN. Jessie fell in love with Jesus in college her first year attending the INN. Since then, He has been radically transforming her life day by day. She's excited to be apart of the INN staff team and journey together with new and old friends as they discover the transformative love and power of God in their lives.
